Looking back, I wish I had known about NEMA when I first arrived in Australia. It is a wonderful organisation that not only celebrates multiculturalism but also supports newcomers as they adjust to life in a new country.
I love this community deeply. I have met so many kind hearted people who embrace different cultures and genuinely care for others.
Before moving here, I had always lived in big cities. I had no idea what country living would be like. The wide open spaces, the quiet evenings, the slower pace, it was a big change.
During the filming, I also shared part of my own journey. Starting over in a foreign land is never easy. Learning a new language, developing a new appetite, and building a career that feels meaningful all take time, resilience and faith.
I am truly grateful for the chance to give back through NEMA. If you are thinking about moving to a regional area, I encourage you to watch this video. Country living offers peace and space, but there are also important things to understand before settling in. This information could save lives.
