Build your confidence from posture

I mentioned previously how I came to realization that I need to change my posture- my important friend gave me a hard lesson. 

In the beginning of the posture adjustment, although I felt that I can remind myself to stand straight, when I looked at the pictures that were taken in India trip, I noticed there are a few pictures still have hunchback.

Hard to be aware every minute from the start. I decided to purchase posture corrector device that can be worn under the clothes and reminds me to stand up straight. The device will buzz when I am not standing in the correct posture.

Adjust the strap to the suitable length first and then wear it, push the button once I am standing in the right posture.

  • Stand up straight and tall
  • Keep your shoulders back 
  • Pull your stomach in
  • Put your weight mostly on the balls of your feet
  • Keep your head level
  • Let your arms hang down naturally at your sides
  • Keep your feet about shoulder-width apart

 

 

It may look uncomfortable, but in fact, I feel I can finally relax my mind and not thinking about standing straight every minute of my life.

I purchased this from eBay, it costs me $15.97 AUD, pretty cost effective and easy to operate. 

I basically wear this every day, because my friend's voice keeps jumping into my mind " You couldn't even stand straight". For me. it is a great motivation.

It feels like someone constantly reminding me to stand straight, couldn't rest from the straight back. However, if you are going computer work for a few hours, this is the great time for you to wear it. If you are doing housework, which requires you to pick things up, changing position frequently. You may find annoyed, as it buzzes quite a lot.

Remember our spine is designed to be flexible, so we can change into all sort of positions.

If you decide to wear it while using laptop, always try to make the process correct and easy for yourself. The top of the laptop means to align with your eyes, likely you will need to raise up your laptop accordingly.

You can get the laptop stand easily from Officeworks. Also, you will need a wireless keyboard and mouse, so you can type easily. All these little helps will make the entire process easier. 

My height is 175cm, and I found most items' designs are way below for my height in Taiwan, so I had to bend over more than the average heights to work around the house- My dream is to design a house with many high benches and cabinets. Some of my dear friends may not be able to reach, but I will prepare my little lovely bench for them to step on ( I love you, my friends!)
