Certain Yet Open

Certain Yet Open

People often don’t see the full extent of our abilities until we let them. The same goes for the value we bring, if we don’t express our strengths with clarity, others may fill in the gaps with their own assumptions. Whether in work or life, when we hesitate to own our skills, we risk letting others’ doubts shape how we see ourselves.

But here’s the thing: You are more capable than you think, and your contributions matter more than you may realize. The challenge isn’t just about proving ourselves to others, it’s about recognizing our own worth first. When we second-guess what we already know, we give uncertainty room to grow. Over time, this can shift our mindset from confidence to hesitation, making us question things we were once sure of.

To counter this, it is important to own what we know while staying open to learning. If we are unsure about our contribution to a project or conversation, instead of retreating into self-doubt, we can ask:

✍️What do I already know?
✍️Where can I grow?
✍️How can I communicate my value with clarity?

Confidence without openness may lead to arrogance. Openness without confidence may lead to doubt. Balancing both allows growth and success. By staying both grounded and adaptable, unnecessary self-doubt can be avoided, creating space for both confidence and collaboration.

It’s not about having all the answers, it’s about trusting yourself to figure things out along the way.
