Getting Angry with Your Fear

Getting Angry with Your Fear

We often feel angry when we fall short of our goals or when others belittle us. According to Dr. Maxwell Maltz, a renowned author, people begin to transform and achieve real success the moment they stop accepting the habits or fears that hold them back.

While I prefer helping clients connect their goals with joy and a clear vision of the future, I have noticed that joy alone is not always enough to push someone into action. In some moments, channeling anger not in a destructive way but as a force for defiance and determination can be a powerful motivator.

Take Barbara Corcoran as an example. She is the founder of The Corcoran Group and a well known investor on Shark Tank. Early in her career, her then business partner and boyfriend ended their relationship and told her, “You will never succeed without me.” That painful moment became her turning point. She later said, “If he had not met her, I would not have started the Corcoran Group.” Today, she is a self made businesswoman with millions in success to her name. She used her anger as fuel, not to destroy, but to build.

Sometimes, getting angry with your fear is exactly what wakes up your courage and helps you move forward.
