What Was Said and What Was Heard

What Was Said and What Was Heard

Words can easily get lost in translation, even when we are speaking the same language. Sometimes, even in English to English conversations, what we say does not land the way we intended, because we are coming from different emotional or mental places.

Text messages, in particular, can often misrepresent our tone or intention. Something meant as calm or caring might come across as cold, rushed, or even aggressive, depending on how it is received. This can create unnecessary tension between two people, tension that could have been avoided with a simple conversation.

When we need to communicate something sensitive or emotionally charged, it is often best to pick up the phone or speak in person. Even a well-meaning friend trying to pass on a message might unintentionally shift the tone or leave the wrong impression.

Clear connection matters, not just in what we say, but how we say it.
